Special Tennis Notice New System for player registrations and tournament registrations. The SATA system has been set up to handle player registrations and tournament registrations. The only way for a player to enter a tournament is for the player or their parent to go to www.satennis.co.za and to register as a member firstly and to send through proof of payment. The bank details are on the website. Once proof of payment has been verified, then the player gets their official SATA number. Only once they have received this number can they register for a tournament. The option of faxing tournament entry forms / registration forms has been removed from the system and only online entries / registrations will be accepted.
Further to our initial release on the 2009/2010 rule changes, we have encountered various calls/queries on the Age Group change and have decided to formulate the following explanation/scenario: Under the previous rules, a player turning 12, 14 or 16 in 2010 would have been entitled to stay in the u12,u14 or u16 age group for the entire duration of the 2010 calendar year. The effect of the new age group rules causes those players turning 12, 14 or 16 in 2010 to move to their next age group on their birth day. It is important to remember that we are still referring to age group as UNDER 12 etc and not 12 & UNDER SOUTH AFRICAN TENNIS ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT RULES, ITF RULES OF TENNIS AND CODE OF CONDUCT 2010 >>
